Oral Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation Leads to Better Preservation of Kidney Function in Steroid-resistant Nephrotic Syndrome Due to Primary Coenzyme Q10 Deficiency
The long-term efficacy and optimal prescription of oral CoQ10 supplementation to treat primary coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) deficiency are not well-documented. This study analyzed information from 116 patients to address this dearth. Findings indicated that all patients diagnosed with this condition should receive early and lifelong CoQ10 supplementation to decelerate the progression of kidney disease and prevent further damage to other organs.

Incidence and One-year Survival of Elderly South Africans Starting Kidney Replacement Therapy
In view of the lack of data available about elderly patients receiving kidney replacement therapy (KRT) in low and middle-income countries, this study analyzed South African Renal Registry data to evaluate the incidence, treatment modalities and one-year survival rates of elderly South Africans receiving KRT.
