Establishing a Core Outcome Measure for Peritoneal Dialysis-related Peritonitis: A Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology - Peritoneal Dialysis (SONG-PD) Consensus Workshop Report
Three themes were identified from a consensus workshop to establish a core outcome measure for PD-related peritonitis in clinical trials: (i) feasibility and applicability across diverse settings, ensuring validity, and being meaningful and tangible to patients.
The authors conclude that a core outcome measure for PD-related peritonitis should include both symptom-based and laboratory-based criteria.
Screening and Management for Intracranial Aneurysms in Japanese ADPKD Patients
Researchers in Japan retrospectively investigated the prevalence, clinical course, and management of intracranial aneurysm (ISA) in Japanese ADPKD patients admitted to a university hospital. They found a high prevalence of ICA in ADPKD patients and propose that their protocol of ICA management may prevent ICA rupture and detect de novo ICA appropriately.
